British citizen found dead in Bukit Jalil condominium complex

KUALA LUMPUR: A British citizen has died in a condominium complex in Bukit Jalil here.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said the incident occurred around 9:39 a.m. on Sunday August 15.

“We received a distress call and sent personnel to the scene to investigate.

“Checks revealed the man to be a 58-year-old British citizen,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

He said medics who were dispatched to the scene confirmed the death.

“Our investigation revealed that the victim had been suffering emotional pressure since his wife died of Covid-19,” ACP Muhammad Idzam said.

He added that witnesses at the scene told police personnel that the suspect fell from the 19th floor of the building.

In an unrelated incident, ACP Muhammad Idzam said a 22-year-old local man was also found dead in a car wash garage along Jalan 14 / 155C Bukit Jalil.

The owner of the car wash contacted the police around 9:30 am Sunday.

He added that investigations revealed that the man was under police surveillance for a period of two years under the Crime Prevention Act l.

ACP Muhammed Idzam said the man was suffering from emotional pressure due to love issues.

He said the two cases were classified as sudden deaths.

“We urge the public facing problems due to the Covid-19 pandemic not to take any action that could threaten their safety or that of their family members,” he said.
