Construction is officially underway on the glass-walled luxury condominium tower across from Sloan’s Lake which has faced the start of legal challenge from neighbors on its 12-story height.

One of the few large-scale condo developments to open in Denver in recent years, the 206-unit Lakehouse project celebrated the start of construction on Wednesday. The development is slated to open in fall 2019, said Brian Levitt, president of NAVA Real Estate Development.

“It’s no longer a plan. It’s not paper anymore, ”NAVA CEO Trevor Hines said at Wednesday’s inauguration. “Lakehouse is going to be a place unlike anything else available in Denver today.”

NAVA Real Estate’s Lakehouse project will include 206 luxury condominiums for sale across from Denver’s Sloan’s Lake Park.

Condos at Lakehouse will range in size from 675 square feet to 2,285 square feet, with 1, 2 and 3 bedroom floor plans available. The townhouses at street level along 17th and Stuart streets range from 1,300 square feet to 2,473 square feet.

Sales of the project, which is part of Sloans’ redevelopment of the old St. Anthony Hospital campus, began last summer. Shares start at under $ 500,000 and go up to $ 2 million.

Amenities for Lakehouse residents will include a 7,000 square foot wellness center; outdoor pool, hot tub and “mist lounge” with lake views; organic production and urban farming program; juice bar; sauna and yoga studio. The project seeks to achieve WELL certification, a third-party building standard focused on the health and well-being of residents through “air, water, food, light, fitness, comfort and light. ‘spirit”.

What Lakehouse won’t include are affordable, low-income units. Instead, NAVA is donating directly to Habitat for Humanity to cover the cost of building four 4-bedroom homes elsewhere in Denver, Levitt said.

The company is also helping subsidize affordable rental housing that will be built in Sloans, he said. If fully constructed, 20% of the homes in the redevelopment will be subject to income restrictions, officials said.
