A Canada-based developer has submitted a land development application to the City of Sarasota authorities that would see a 10-unit luxury condominium built in the Golden Gate Point neighborhood with units starting at $ 2.48 million .
Toronto-based Vandyk Properties has already developed the ONE88 residences at 188 Golden Gate Point and the Orange Club at Burns Square in downtown Sarasota.
The developer’s new property will be called SIX88 Residences at 688 Golden Gate Point. Plans filed with the city show eight stories above a single story of structured parking on a 0.6 acre lot.
Luxury condos will start at $ 2.48 million for a 1,990 square foot unit. The condos on the property will extend up to 4,618 square feet, according to a press release from Vandyk Properties. A price was not included for the penthouse.

Design, architecture, landscaping and engineering will be provided by companies based in Sarasota: Joel Freedman of Freedman Consulting & Development submitted the bid for the Vandyk properties; the architect is Mark Sultana of DSDG Architects; engineering will be provided by Shawn Leins of AM Engineering and arborist Phil Smith.
ONE88, built in 2015 according to Herald-Tribune records, was the first condominium completed in Sarasota after the 2007-08 economic downturn. The project consisted of eight condominiums in a five-story building near John Ringling Causeway.
This luxury condominium has seen some of the highest resale prices for condominiums in Sarasota, with an almost 3,000 square foot condo selling for $ 5.85 million in April, according to the County Property Appraiser. Sarasota.

The press release announcing the project says Vandyk will also be a resident of the development.

Condominium units will include full floor plates offering 360 degree views of Sarasota Bay and downtown. Residents will be able to design each condo with specialized features and the condominium will include a fitness center, social club room, dog grooming area.
